Rachel Carmen is a Swiss singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the idyllic mountain village of Muotathal. From a young age, she knew that music was home. With a microphone, a keyboard and a guitar in her hands, she began writing her own songs — long before she ever stepped onto a stage.

 

In recent years, Rachel has spent a lot of time on the road — between mountains, stages and the sound of the sea. For a while, she lived on a campsite, where new songs were born between power cables, campfires and quiet nights. These experiences have shaped her earthy authenticity and unique sound to this day.

 

Her stages have ranged from snowy Swiss peaks to the sunlit beaches of Spain, where she has captivated audiences as a singer and bar pianist.

 

Rachel’s musical journey began to flourish after winning the Prix Walo Sprungbrett in 2014. Highlights include radio appearances, a duet with Piero Esteriore and the Esteriore Brothers on Donnschtig-Jass, a performance at the KKL Lucerne, and a spontaneous jam session with Büne Huber of Patent Ochsner.

 

In 2019, Rachel spent several months in Los Angeles, gathering creative inspiration and evolving her musical style. Today, she writes mostly in English — blending depth, longing and light. Her music moves between pop, rock and soul, carried by a voice that tells real stories.

 

Independent, authentic and with her whole heart in music, Rachel stands at the beginning of a new chapter. Her upcoming songs return to her roots — warm harmonies, emotional lyrics and a sound that lingers long after the last note.

RACHEL’S PROJECTS

 

 

With COVERSTREET, an acoustic duo/trio featuring drummer Fabio Rogantini and pianist Veronica Hvalic, she brings well-known songs to life in her own honest, charming and groovy way.

 

She also shares her love of music with young creatives through workshops and holiday projects at the Foolpark recording studio — with heart, patience and a spark of playful energy. Rachel teaches guitar and leads a children’s choir, passing on her passion for music to the next generation.

 

As a songwriter, she is internationally active, regularly participating in songwriting camps and sessions in Switzerland, Norway and London, collaborating with artists from around the world.
